Peter Chipman

Born on January 17, 1969, in the village of Nakabunze in Zambia’s Western Province, Peter Chipman grew up immersed in the wilderness that would ultimately shape his life’s work.

Raised in a family of hunters and on his brother's farm, his childhood was defined by tales of endurance, courage, and survival many shared by his father, a respected hunter and the region's first commercial crocodile hunter. Peter's safari heritage reaches back across generations. His grandfather, originally from Canada, was an ivory hunter whose life ended during a buffalo charge an event that left a profound imprint on the family and fueled Peter's deep respect for dangerous game and the unforgiving African bush.

Peter began his professional hunting apprenticeship in 1986 with Hunters Africa and earned his full hunter license in the West Zambian region in 1989. Since then, he has guided clients across some of Africa's most demanding landscapes, pursuing dangerous game such as lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, hippo, and crocodile, as well as a wide range of plains game species. His reputation is built on unrivaled bushcraft, unwavering commitment to client safety, and a strong ethical approach to fair-chase hunting.

Peter has dedicated much of his career to conservation. He is widely recognized for leading anti-poaching initiatives, partnering with wildlife authorities on joint patrols, and supporting local communities through sustainable-use programs. His contributions include meat donations from safari hunts, rural development support, and clean-water projects that improve the lives of families across the region.
