Selous Game Reserve Where Wild Meets Wonder
Selous Game Reserve (parts of which were reorganized into Nyerere National Park in 2019) is one of Africa's largest and most remote protected areas. The broader Selous ecosystem covers tens of thousands of square kilometers of miombo woodland, floodplain and riverine habitat often quoted around ~50,000 – 55,000 km² depending on whether buffer areas are included. It was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1982 for its outstanding biodiversity and relatively intact wilderness values.
